على صورة بيروت، مسقط رأسه، تفككت ذاكرة «مَوَران» وأعادت بناء نفسها ألف مرّة مولّدَةً هذا المزيج الرقيق والمشذوب بعناية من الاشتهاء والقسوة، من رائحة البحر والحرائق.
تكتشف «شظايا» الأبعاد الجغرافية والمدينيّة وتعرضها لنا. أبعدُ من بيروت، يشاركنا «مَوَران» في رحلته الصوفية واستبصاره في هوية المدينة وتطوّرها. يشاركنا في خسارة الأحاسيس قبل إعادة الإستيلاء على الفضاء مجدداً. يشاركنا تأثير الأمكنة على التصوّرات وحيوات الناس…
ينهل «مَوَران» من الموسيقى الكلاسيكية الشرق أوسطية، خصوصاً الموسيقى التقليدية الأندلسية. ينهل من الأناشيد الصوفية والأناشيد المارونية اللبنانية.
ثمة قوة صوفيّة في تقسيمات «مَوَران»، ويحاول هذا المشروع إدامتها ونقلها إلينا. ثمة قوة شرقية عميقة تتسلل إلينا من الحضارات القديمة
FR – FR La mémoire de Mawaran, qui, à l’image de Beyrouth, sa ville natale, s’est déconstruite et reconstruite mille fois, donne ce mélange si subtile entre sensualité et béton armé, entre l’odeur de la mer et celle de l’incendie.
Le projet Shazaya, « éclats, fragments » en arabe, est un projet qui explore et met en scène ses dimensions géographiques et urbaines.
Au-delà de Beyrouth, Mawaran nous fait partager un voyage mystique et une réflexion sur l’identité et l’évolution de la Ville, la perte de sens puis la reconquête de l’espace, l’impact des lieux sur les représentations et la vie des gens…
Puisant ses sources dans la musique classique du Moyen-Orient, tout particulièrement de la tradition Arabo-Andalouse, des chants Soufis et Maronites du Liban, les compositions de Mawaran ont souvent une force mystique, que ce projet cherche à perpétuer et à transmettre. Une force orientale profonde, s’inscrivant dans des cultures millénaires…
ENG – ENG The memories of the past and the city of Beirut, birthplace of Mawaran, have been destroyed and rebuilt a thousand times. This results in a subtle mix of sensuality and armed concrete, of the scent of the sea blended with fire smoke.
Shazaya in arabic means « fragments, shards ». The project explores the realms of memory and remembrance in their geographical and urban dimensions.
Beyond Beirut, Mawaran shares with us a mystical journey and a reflexion on the evolution of the city. He explores the loss of senses and the progressive reconquest of space as well as the impact of places on representations and people’s life.
With inspirations grounded in Eastern music,in particular the Arab-Andalucian tradition, Sufi and Maronite Lebanese music, Mawaran’s pieces carry a mystical force communicated and perpetrated in this album, a deep oriental force stemming from millenary cultures…
